Synthesis, crystal structure and spin-density-wave anomaly of the iron arsenide-fluoride SrFeAsF

The new quaternary iron arsenide-fluoride SrFeAsF with the tetragonal ZrCuSiAstype structure was synthesized and the crystal structure was determined by X-ray powder diffraction (P4/nmm, a = 399.30(1), c = 895.46(1) pm). SrFeAsF undergoes a structural and magnetic phase transition at 175 K, accompanied by strong anomalies in the specific heat, electrical resistance and magnetic susceptibility. ...

Superconductivity up to 35 K in the iron platinum arsenides (CaFe(1-x)Pt(x)As)10Pt(4-y)As8 with layered structures.

The discovery of high-Tc superconductivity in iron arsenides in 2008 has arguably been the biggest breakthrough in this field since the appearance of the copper oxide superconductors in 1986. In iron arsenides, superconductivity up to 55 K originates in layers of edge-sharing [FeAs4/4]-tetrahedra. Meanwhile, a series of different structure types have been identified, but the family of supercon...

Enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature of FeSe by intercalation of a molecular spacer layer.

The discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in a layered iron arsenide has led to an intensive search to optimize the superconducting properties of iron-based superconductors by changing the chemical composition of the spacer layer between adjacent anionic iron arsenide layers. Superconductivity has been found in iron arsenides with cationic spacer layers consisting of metal ions (for e...

Electronic-structure-driven magnetic and structure transitions in superconducting NaFeAs single crystals measured by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.

The electronic structure of NaFeAs is studied with angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy on high quality single crystals. Large portions of the band structure start to shift around the structural transition temperature and smoothly evolve as the temperature lowers through the spin density wave transition. Moreover, band folding due to magnetic order emerges slightly above the structural tra...

Nanoscale layering of antiferromagnetic and superconducting phases in Rb2Fe4Se5

The recent discovery of intercalated iron-selenide superconductors [1] has stirred up the condensed-matter community accustomed to the proximity of the superconducting and magnetic phases in various cuprate and pnictide superconductors. Never before has a superconducting state with a transition temperature as high as 30 K been found to coexist with such an exceptionally strong antiferromagnetis...
